Meet Brian Rilko – Owner of Mastertech Environmental of Orange County

Hi, I’m Brian Rilko, and I’m proud to bring Mastertech Environmental to Orange County, CA. With a deep-rooted commitment to safety, integrity, and customer-focused service, my goal is to help homeowners and businesses navigate mold remediation, water damage restoration, hoarding cleanup, and biohazard cleanup with confidence and peace of mind.

Having spent years in project and program management, I know how critical it is to meet timelines, manage risks, and communicate effectively—especially when people’s homes and health are at stake. My background in airline operations and customer service has instilled in me the importance of precision, timeliness, and attention to detail. Now, I bring these values to every project at Mastertech, ensuring that we provide solutions that are not just effective but also transparent and reliable.

My Journey: From Project Management to Property Restoration

Originally from Saginaw, MI, I spent 16 years in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago before settling in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, where I’ve lived for the past 14 years with my wife, Rachel, and our three children: Nathan, Molly, and Sorin.

Professionally, I spent 14 years in airline operations and another 25 years in project and program management, where I specialized in risk assessment, outcome-driven solutions, and customer satisfaction. As a Certified Scrum Master and Agile enthusiast, I thrive in structured processes that drive efficiency—an essential skill in mold remediation and property restoration.

My experience also includes home services such as hoarding cleanup, painting, and preparing properties for sale, which naturally led me to explore a career in the remediation industry. I wanted to make a real impact, helping families and business owners protect their property, health, and well-being.

Why I Chose Mastertech Environmental

I knew I wanted a career where I could help people while also leveraging my skills in project execution and customer service. A childhood friend who owns a business in this industry highly recommended Mastertech Environmental, and after seeing their commitment to quality, safety, and customer care, I knew this was the right choice.

What excites me most about this work is seeing the positive impact we make on people’s lives—whether it’s helping a family remove mold for health reasons, restoring a home after water damage, or assisting a loved one with hoarding cleanup to create a safer living environment.

Serving the Orange County Community

Giving back has always been important to me. I have spent years volunteering in my community, including time with a local youth theater company, where I built sets and worked backstage. I’ve also been deeply involved in club and high school soccer as a coach, trainer, and parent for over 20 years.

Now, through Mastertech Environmental, I am committed to serving Orange County homeowners and businesses by providing trusted, professional cleanup and restoration services. Whether it’s responding to an emergency flood cleanup, tackling a severe mold issue, or assisting a family in need of hoarding cleanup, I believe in treating every job with compassion and care.
